Desperta Energia connects people and businesses to solar energy through shared generation, with no installation and no investment. And it goes beyond savings: we also protect the people who pay the bills against billing errors, problems with the utility company and damaged appliances.

Our story

Desperta Energia was founded in Belo Horizonte in 2023, when Mutual Solar, a company dedicated to financing solar energy projects, acquired the Desperta brand and adopted its name. Its founders include professionals who created some of the first retail energy trading companies in Brazil, executives from multinational solar companies and entrepreneurs who built leading fintechs.

Shared generation is fully regulated: it is governed by Law 14,300/2022 (Brazil's Distributed Generation Legal Framework) and overseen by ANEEL under Normative Resolution 1,059/2023. It is a private initiative: it is not a government benefit and does not replace the Social Tariff (Brazil's low-income energy discount).
